Chalice. 2014

The chalice is wrought from a tiny gold nugget mined in the California Sierra Nevada Mountains. The vessel's volume is exactly 1 drop of water. Designed for temporary placement on a microscope slide in a dried out lake bed of Lake Washoe, Nevada, a natural habitat severely affected by climate change. Biological microscope has two positions, one is for observation of the chalice, the other for filling it with scarce rain water.
